UI/UX, private equity, and long-COVID
Some recent links:
Interface Craft. Playing with this after Andy Matuschak mentioned it on his Twitter. It's interesting so far, and has some CC skills built in. 7/10 for an interesting course over the weekend. There’s maybe 4-6 hours of material. It’s a bit pricey but after getting the 30% student discount it was $130. It was a nice leisurely learning activity to do instead of work. I don’t know if I would recommend it, maybe I’ll be able to speak to that further if I reflect on it for two weeks to a month. I definitely feel more attentive to all the computer faces I interact with on a daily basis after taking it.
Private Equity FunCast. Private equity is an interesting world that I’ve been learning about lately, as many SaaS companies end up selling to private equity companies. This podcast is one of the best resources I’ve found for learning about the industry from a more qualitative perspective.
Holdco Tycoon. A fun private equity simulation game! I didn’t get past round one but I aspire to. Someone on Cedric Chin’s Commoncog forum shared it.
I tried David Chapman’s chronic-fatigue-defying six-mile run. It worked. Long-CVOID sounds nasty. David Chapmann apparently fought it by going on vigorous runs. This guy tries the same. The blog post was more of a “this is an experiment I just started” rather than “this is an experiment I tried last year and it worked”, but still seems interesting.
Best,
Parker
P.S. I will be at Microconf in Portland April 12-14th! If you’re reading this and you’ll be there, lmk!

What is Interface Craft actually? Like what is it teaching?
